Big Burro 24HR

BIG BURRO 24 HOUR

24 Hours. Five Miles. How Far Will You Go?

Sunset to sunset. One five-mile loop through the Maple Hills Trail System in Big Bear, California. Keep running until the clock runs out.

REGISTER NOW

Old School Ultra.

The Big Burro isn't about prize money, influencers, or flashy production.

It's about showing up on a Friday night, running through the sunset, making it through the cold mountain night, watching the sun come back up, and seeing what you've got left.

You'll spend twenty-four hours with the same runners, volunteers, friends, and crew. Every five miles you'll come back through basecamp before heading out for another lap.

Simple.

Hard.

Honest.

The Format

No complicated rules.

No cutoffs every few miles.

Just one five-mile loop and twenty-four hours to run as many laps as you can.

The runner with the most completed laps wins.

Whether your goal is one lap or twenty, everyone starts together and earns every mile.

Five Miles You'll Never Forget

The course winds through the Maple Hills Trail System overlooking Big Bear Lake.

Expect flowing singletrack, punchy climbs, fast descents, rocky sections, and classic Southern California mountain terrain.

Every lap brings you back through race headquarters where your crew, fellow runners, and volunteers are waiting before you head back out.

Approximately 5 Miles

Built For The Trails That Built Us

The Maple Hills Trail System is what makes this race possible.

We're committed to giving back.

Every year we'll coordinate a volunteer trail work day before race weekend.

We'll remove every course marker after the race.

We'll leave the trails cleaner than we found them.

And $5 from every race entry will be donated directly to the Bear Valley Education Foundation to support continued maintenance and improvements to the Maple Hills Trail System.
